Boating with Thirty-One

22 Aug

Our friends recently purchased a pontoon boat and we were excited to be their first guests. Yesterday, they took us to Kelly Park in Merritt Island, Fla. and we planted ourselves on a sandbar somewhere along the intracoastal. It was great!

The night before I made Orzo Pasta Salad and packed lunch for the four of us in my new Picnic Thermal Tote. In addition to the Orzo, we had some Italian hard salami with provolone cheese on whole wheat flat bread crackers. We ate lunch at the sandbar, enjoying the beautiful weather.

I used the Large Utility Tote to pack three large beach towels and threw my smaller bags in it as well. I used the Large Zipper Pouch to pack all my toiletry items and electronics (iPhone, Blackberry, iPod). And used the Cinch Sac to pack our change of clothes.

With the clouds rolling in, we decided to make our way back to the dock. Luckily, we managed to stay dry despite the heavy black clouds. We arrived at the dock and loaded up the truck before the skies open up. We drove in the pouring rain to Titusville to eat dinner at Dixie Crossroads. As soon as we arrived, the rain stopped. The rain started back up while we were eating. The rain stopped just as we were leaving. We drove back to Orlando in the pouring rain and as soon as we pulled into our friend’s street, the rain miraculously stopped again. We were able to unload the truck and get into our car before the skies opened up again. We drove home in the pouring rain but arrived dry and safe. How’s that for luck?

Overall, it was a great day and we look forward to our next adventures with Kevin and Heather 🙂
